I don't particularly care to come into the city on the weekends. Being a resident of Queens after ten years in Manhattan, I might as well live in Albany for all it takes to bring me in.
Every so often I get reminded of why I love being here though.
Ended up coming into the city for other people's plans and they wanted to hit a jazz club, so we went to this place called Jazz Standard. It also turned out to be part of this BBQ joint I was looking to check out, Blue Smoke. The ribs were a bit overrated there, but it was good to get out and the music really was amazing. Two hours of very old school jazz. Now I need to find a good ska or TMBG show and I'll be happy.
And any of you NY based writers, swing on out to the Lucky Cat on Tuesday and join the writeathon after work. I can vouch for at least two of us being there.. hehe.
