So many interesting headlines got my mind percolating like the brown sludgy coffee that it is...
First, Omarosa is going to be on the next cast of The Surreal Life along with Pepa of "Salt N'" fame, Jose Canseco, British model Caprice (?), Carey Hart (NOT Corey), America's Top Model judge Janice Dickinson, and last but certainly not least Bronson Pinchot. Should be an interesting one... I miss Hammer and Tammy Fae though...
Johnny Cochran was 67??? Huh!
Here's another news story followed by my advice:
C-Murder lost his latest attempt to get his second-degree murder conviction thrown out when a state court of appeal refused to reconsider the case. The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, was convicted Sept. 30, 2003, in the death of Steve Thomas, 16, at a nightclub in the New Orleans suburb of Harvey. He faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
No sympathy here, folks. Way I see it, if you willingly change your name and include the word MURDER in it like Corey here did (not one of THEE Coreys), and then you MURDER someone, I think the jury will not go easy on you when you commit MURDER. Just a theory...
And this tidbit was waiting on the AOL news ticker this morning:
Chad McQueen Quits Acting
!!!
This is a headline? So fucking whaaat? The guy's claim to fame was his dad, Steve, and the role of Dutch in The Karate Kid. I hardly think this is a headline. Why not have "Skip Brando Cleans Pool, Skimmer Clogged" up there?
Enough of the news... I would like to start a history of modern buddy movie/tv pairings, and I think it really starts off with Bob & Doug Mackenzie. Then it was Bill & Ted with Wayne and Garth to follow in their footsteps. Then the quintessential Dude, Where's My Car?, and finally Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. I'm sure I could go all the way back to Hope and Crosby, but I'm doing modern era for now. Am I leaving anyone out?
