Jumping the shark?

So I was looking at some forums discussing Family Guy today. What a bunch of fanboy whiners... every post was pretty much from Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. Lots of people complaining that it was the worst episode ever.

First of all, no.
Second of all, no.

The posters all acted like the show had been something more than it is. I laughed outloud more than I have in awhile over it. I like the bits that tend to go on a bit too long. My fave classic of that is when Peter bangs his knee and goes on forever with the Oohhhhing and Ahhhhing over it. I love the over the top bookie movie scenes with Brian and Stewie that stumbled brilliantly into absurdity to the point of knee-capping and flamethrowing.

And for the whiners about the musical number being too long? Fuck you, k? They always do these Buzby Berkley extraveganzas, and the usually go whole hog with full out choreography and they're not going to sell the song short. The numbers are some of my favorite scenes, especially the creepy old man who has a crush on Chris singing Somewhere That's Green.

I realize that this is my own fanboy rant, so I'm part of the problem, but I'm only imparting my fanboyness in my journal for my little pool of sexy, intelligent readers rather than humping my unwanted flaming into the forums.

Last nights episode? Freakin' sweet!
