Good critques last night. The pages I brought in were certainly heading in the right direction but certainly derail in a few specific areas. I pretty much agree with the commentary and once I redo the scene it will go from a surprisingly small 7 pages to probably 30 or so once I get all the description and discomfort added in.
I've read a few verbose posts on how to process criticism or rejections as a writer. I'll boil it down to a few bullet points.
If someone is critquing your work and giving you feedback:
-consider the source (really consider it.. give what they say due dilligence but try to be honest with yourself as they rip apart your sweet baby darling oh so clever words that you giggled so proudly over creating)
-if you want blind praise, give it to your parents
That's about it for now.
We return you now to my poor, suffering characters. Back to kicking them in the 'nads...
