It makes scents, don't it?

Dead To Me
Here is a brief list of scents that I like that I generally think most people I know can't stand.

Patchouli- Most people I know hate the pungency or that it reminds them of dirty hippies. For me, however, this is one of those smells that I associate with a few key times in my life and certain girls, so it remains a powerful trigger in a positive light for me. I could never use it in my books as a universal pleasant smell without going into lengthy explanations as to why it is for the characters tho, and frankly I don't like to work too hard when writing!

Clove cigarettes- These remind me of when I was in bands and girls in black nail polish, and in particular my old friends Ben and Emily. Something about the cloying sweetness in them goes to a pleasure center somewhere deep in one section of my brain. I don't smoke anymore, but I can still taste it and it is good. Most people just want to kill the asshole who lit one up, as it has a five mile radius of scent.

Gasoline- this one has no triggers, that I'm aware of. I just like the smell of it. I'm not mechanical in anyway. I don't work on cars, and the few experiences where my father tried to learn me on em turned out to be awkward and unpleasant. Nonetheless, I love the smell.

And here are a few scents I just like, which I think many would find pleasing:
Verbena- reminds me of Lemon PEZ. If you wear it, I will eat you!
Amber- one of my friends wears this, I think just to torment me. If she disappears suddenly, I didn't eat her.. honest!

What scents do it for you? Or what is that secret one than no one else will understand?
