So I spent the last week or so revising a workshop piece. I felt uncomfortable while writing it, I felt uncomfortable reading it outloud last night, so naturally it was hailed as I my best and squickiest scene ever. Still, on a day when the writing neuroses was riding high, it was a nice thing to hear in a workshop that is brutally honest and not full of needless backpatting.

I guess Lennon was right when he said "Genius is pain". Or maybe it was Marx...
