Well, here's a new piece that will be appearing in Romantic Times, cuz hey, Simon is one sexy bitch!
Urban Fantasy
Dead To Me
Anton Strout
* * * * stars (out of 5)
Welcome to Strout's offbeat and dangerously weird world! Making a strong debut, Strout quickly throws his idealistic and gung-ho hero into the deep end to see if he can swim. Seeing the world through SImon's eyes is a funny, quirky and occasionally scary experience. Strout's world will be well worth revisiting.
Summary: Simon Canderous is blessed/cursed with the power of psychometry. Regrettably, this "gift" has played havoc with his love life. Having decided to leave his life of petty crime behind, Simon has gone to the good side and joined the New York Department of Extraordinary Affairs.
Still learning the ropes, Simon and his mentor Connor are dragged into a possibly apocalyptic case when a newly deceased young woman turns up at thir office. Who is Irene, and why was she killed? Irene doesn't remember, but the case takes a really weird turn when a stolen fish appears to be at the epicenter of a nefarious plot. (ACE, Mar., 368 pp., &7.99)

But yay for the review! And the Romantic Times, that's cool because it can help reach another audience altogether.
My days of pink hair are sadly in the past as well. Damn having to look professional!
And yes, Simon is totally yummy. I'm sure I'd go all squimish school girl if I ever met him in person. ;)
Who's Jill Smith?
Oh, right, the reviewer. ;)
Mark, as a side note: I lent HHofD to one of my supervisors at work. She's not into fantasy at all, but she is into snark, and she loved it. She figures she'd like to read the next one. Reeled her in, you did.
*runs off to prepare more snark*
Last Thursday I stayed up really late to finish Dead to Me. Because I stayed up really late, I overslept on Friday morning. Because I overslept, I missed my bus. Because of that, I was late for my doctor's appointment. Because of that, I was late to work. Because of that, there were no jaffa cakes left for me at the morning coffee break.
You and Simon Canderous owe me jaffa cakes, Anton. Lots of jaffa cakes.
And fine, I'll send you some... once I figure out what a jaffa cake is and a mailing address.
I can tell by their name that they probably don't ship well...

See, if Wikipedia knows about jaffa cakes, they must be real.
