For the curious

  • Apr. 19th, 2008 at 1:20 AM
Sammy Rocking XMas Style Yo!, Doggie, Dead To Me, The Annointed One, Cowthulhu, Anton & His Trout, Simon Santa, How did I not grow up a Village Person?, Malasian Whoor Boy, Joel & Bots, Black n white, Dragon
I know many of you are on the edge of your seat, wondering how Anton did at comic con.

Let's see.. first I was in the Penguin booth, which was oddly being run by all the lovely ladies of Ace, Roc, DK, and the juvenile division.
And Chris Clairmont just happened to be hanging out there and we chatted about how we met 21 years ago up in Albany when I had him sign my Wolverine four part series and now I'm all full circle as a writah too!
Then I started talking to this other guy, only realizing partway through it was Orson Scott Card.   I think my voice cracked like that teenage boy on The Simpsons...
And then the signing... there was a line of very nice people, except for one I wanted to stab in the eye, and I signed until we ran out of books!
Also, one of my clients from one of my accounts came by to tell me he really DID enjoy my book.. hehe.
So really no complaints and it was the last of my big planned events until Denvention in July and Gencon in August.  Tomorrow I'll be wandering the show floor or stopping by the Penguin booth (1941).  Then Passover, then my sleep of a thousand years!

Oh that sounds awesome!
When I met a few comic writers I loved, like Paul Jenkins, I tried not to be a total fanatic goob...but I was...it was sad, so I understand.

Sounds like ya' done had a good time, so far. When I once met Tad Williams I started to get gushy. But then he found out I'm a vet and he got all respectful. And William Gibson is just plain cool.
Good Pesach!

I was sitting in my office at work one day and suddenly William Gibson walked by my door. I of course leapt from my chair and followed him, because ummm... I'm professional like that...

Orson Scott Card? I loved Ender's Game (bet that surprises you!) we just recommended it to stepson who is on the third book in the series.

Sound like you had a great time and no, that was not me you wanted to stab in the eye:)

Happy Passover? Don't take the matza from the kidlings.

So glad it went well!

PS. Totally envious over Chris Clairmont.

I tried to live in his beard like that family of birds did with Peter on The Family Guy, but sadly, security wrestled me to the ground...

If you're there by noon, check out the "Geek Love" panel. It's a panel of cute chicks talking. The point is to show people there ARE cute chicks who are into anime and comics. My friend is speaking on it.

I don't know if they're ALL cute, but my friend is, shes a little blond girl.)

Re: Packages!!
I'm glad that we didn't get pics together. God knows you would have ended up pointing at MY crotch too, and then I would have shamed the last son of Krypton and a man much damaged by his childhood and cave issues...
