It's late, and my mind wanders..

Sammy Rocking XMas Style Yo!, Doggie, Dead To Me, The Annointed One, Cowthulhu, Anton & His Trout, Simon Santa, How did I not grow up a Village Person?, Malasian Whoor Boy, Joel & Bots, Black n white, Dragon
You know what bugs me? Olive Garden commercials. Moreso because I'm a New Yorker and we have Little Italy here, no doubt.

But I think if someone took me to Olive Garden (or worse the Olive Garden cooking school in Italy) in search of fine Italian cuisine, I think I'd have to murder them in their sleep. I'm not sure what method I'd use, but it would probably involve those breadsticks...

That said, every once in a great while, I will go... but other than the bottomless salad bowl, I'm ALWAYS disappointed.

Ah well, I guess they won't be selling Dead To Me at Olive Garden now...

I was dating this one guy (pre-Sam) and he told me he was going to take me to the best Italian restaurant. I said jokingly 'As long as it's not the Olive Garden. They are NOT Italian.' He looked at me with sad puppy dog eyes and was like 'But that's where I was going to take you.' *snicker*

My old girlfriends ex-husband proposed to her there! Granted, they were like 19, but still!

Classy... my first official proposal was behind Walmart.

The second was Sam and he made me a fortune cookie. We were at his house, he made stir fry and I did everything I could to ruin it unknowingly. :) Even refusing the cookie b/c I had just brushed my teeth. *facepalm* But I opened it and it said 'Marry Me'. He kneeled, said some beautiful things of which I remember only tidbits b/c I was too busy bobbing my head at him like a loon. Then I saw the shiny... ooo... :)

See, if you grow up with Italian (or other Medterranean-style) food, you know it isn't the real stuff.

But I have always had a good experience with the place.

I have taken groups of 10 to 20 high school kids there a couple of times and gotten treated well. (same experience at Outback Steakhouse).

The food is good, but I have had real meatballs and sauce. ;)

PS: Finished the book. Thank you. May I have another?

I don't go for authentic, but for the cheesy sauce and tons and tons of bread. Too bad the closest one is an hour away, because now i'm hungry...

When should I expect your heart attack again?

Any day now.
Or possibly a couple weeks ago, when I was moving furniture.
Haven't fallen over yet, though.

I still think the North End in Boston beats Little Italy in NY any day of the week!

I wouldn't know. The Boston accent repels me, even tho I'm a Mass boy, so I can't get close enough to know.

But since you're opinionated and wrong about most things (except the genius that is mah book), I'm inclined to think we win here!

Aww...but I LIKE Olive Garden. But mostly for the breadsticks. Not for the rest. And the bottomless salad IS good. :-)

Olive Garden=blech. There's absolutely nothing that I crave there. The only thing good about dinner is the Andes mints at the end. I would much rather eat at Biaggi's (which I think is mostly in the midwest). Much more authentic and yummy

I totally made Kamran take me out to dinner at Olive Garden last Friday night. I'm NEVER disappointed by anything I get there, and I think I really appreciate the chain-y Ohioness of it. I ain't embarrassed to be smalltown, I guess.

I always expect you, my dear, to be the exception to every rule.

I guess it also depends on the triggers and memories you have. They didn't exist when I used to be in Mass so they had no previous meeting.

How about Chi-Chi's?

Death by breadsticks wouldn't be the *worst* way to go...
