Dead To Me
Pubbing a book is a roller coaster of emotions.

Here is my VERY scientific study:
Ramp up to pub date- excited, nervous
First month of publication- excited, nervous
Three months after publication- calms down
Four months after publication- small bit of depression, next book too far forward to be getting excited about yet

What's next? I dunno...

I should probably start book three in the series before I get too heavily hit with edits for book two, huh? But the low grade depression, she say no!

I am sure this is not just me, so feel free to chime in if you have any experience with this...

Post-pub depression is a bitch :(

Heh, post-publication depression (PPD) could be a terrible thing. I remember getting it for my first novel, mainly because I thought I would never get published again. It gets frustrating since you expect to at least top yourself with the next one; naturally you'll do it, but still it wears down on you.

You forgot worry, depression, worry, depression, worry, depression, and worry.

Oh yeah. That pub date for Road Trip seems really far off. I'm unmotivated and my wordcount has slowed to a crawl.

Must. Go. Sleep.

I have zero experience with that - haha, yet! I have zero experience with it yet! - but in case it helps to have the ego stroked a bit, I just finished Dead To Me and I loved it. ^^ Can't wait for the next one. I'll be sure to get a copy when that one hits the shelves. Thanks for making me laugh.
